Holidazed

WOW how crazy the 2013 holiday season has been and it's not over yet! This month has kept me real busy with creating new art to keep up with stock after doing all the flea markets, Bazaar's, swap meets and other events I have been doing and still have planed for this month.
My greeting cards are so much fun and always make people smile laugh or start up a conversation whenever they see them and my snowflakes were more popular than I thought they were going to be.
Giving books a second life after the holiday season!
My thumb is raw and peeling from all the thumbtacks I use to hangup snowflakes as part of my holiday display but it always looks so cool when they are up. So far this holiday season I have done 6 events:
Making snowflakes out of recycled beer boxes.

ArtAche at Chop Suey
Punk Rock Flea Market at Belltown Underground
Capitol Hill Art Walk
Back Bar Flea Market at The Crocodile
Holiday Bazar Gnar
plus one today December 15th
Punk Rock Swap Meet at 2 bit Saloon
and still have a couple more events to go before my holiday vending season is over.
Starving Artist on Parade at Highline
Urban Shopping and Cocktails in Tacoma
more events are always posted on my Caps'N'Scraps
facebook page.

I am very excited for the event I have planned on Monday it is at the highline where there will be burlesque, comedy and art. I will have my naughty lil Xmas cards attached to candy canes here and of course more snowflakes. I will have to post a photo of my naughty lil cards with candy canes in another post.

This season has been crazy my jewelry is evolving into what I always had seen it in my head I survived the crazy Punk Rock Flea Market and still work once a week as an agent at the Pike Place Market. It may seem like I have disappeared to some of my friends but I think it is because I have but, once this season is over I'll go back to having a personal life but for right now I am loving every minute of my crazy life!

Pop-Up Shop

This year will be the first time that my studio will be open to the public for black Friday.
There will be an area to create your own scrapbook pages for all the photos you would have taken on Thanksgiving and for all the photos you will be taking during the holiday season. Also you can make a custom pair of beerings all you have to do is pick a cap and add your charms it's really easy and i'll be there to help you the entire time. For those of you that are over 21 there will be adult drinks being served, light snacks plus Christmas music and movies for the kiddos. This event can be a little hard to find as there is no door open to easily walk in but you can text message me when you get to the door my number will be on the front black or on the big red alley way door.
So, this black friday and entire holiday shopping season for that matter make sure to find your local flea markets, bizarres or swap meets and buy something handcrafted from a small business.

New Designs

This month has been interesting.
The new designs that I have been coming up are some of my favorite plus the fans are really giving me some excellent feedback and loving to wear them as much as I am loving to create them. Using more watch parts, spoons and vintage finds my style is transforming into what I always envisioned my business being.

Horse Parts
This necklace started off like any of my designs begin, I find the main piece and work around it.
With my business being focused mainly around
booze my mind is always set to beer so,
of course when I saw this gold rusted up piece
my mind right away thought bottle opener.
Nope that is not at all what I thought it was, the
lady selling it at the rummage sale I found it
at laughed at me. She then explained how
it was used to decorate horse mains back when
these animals were used as main sources of
transportation. Like how we decorate our cars
with stickers this is what they used to decorate
horses. I then added a watch part plus 2 pearls
to hang from the center of the horse decoration and
is hanging on a long 35inch chain.

Broken Washington
This Piece was the first of my new designs that sold. My friend Emily bought it which makes me happy cause I get to see it every once in a while. My friend Jen gave me this part to work with and you would never believe that it started off as a spoon. As you may or may not know I hang WA state spoons from chains but, I broke this spoon and used just the top part of it. The watch pieces are all parts that I have been hoarding forever because I either broke them during the take apart process or that do not have a spot for me to put an O-ring through to use as a charm. Most of the pieces are the knobs that turn the minute and hour hands plus the little screws that hold the watch together. Every once in a while if it is a really nice watch there is a diamond in it so yeah I get fancy and add diamonds to my work too.

Have an idea for a custom design? Get a hold of me to put in an order for Christmas and give the most perfect one of a kind handmade gift this year!

The return of Urban shopping and Cocktails

After a summer long hiatus this event is back along with all of it's artist, treats and wonderful host Christy and Jenson. This event happens every 3rd Saturday of the month and brings together the best hand made arts, crafts and culinary deliciousness from local small business.
This month is a Halloween themed shopping event with vendors like LalaLaurie with halloween paper craftiness. Parisienne Girl Designs is also going to be here and will be bringing her gorgeous creations where timeless style meets modern elegance, working out of Tacoma as well is Dewy&Byrd Co. creates custom jewelry for the runway, shops and you. One of my favorite people who will be there is SeaStone Botanicals she is usually my neighbor at events and is so nice plus makes the best lip balms, hand salves, lotion bars, solid perfumes and beautiful soaps. If you are a fan of unique handcrafted re-purposed goodies then there are a few choices for you to choose from like Look What I Found, Earth Nerd Treasures with all kinds of handcrafted goodies. The host of course is a brilliant artist herself bringing together her love of cooking and using the finest quality plus sustainable materials to bring you delicious gourmet culinary salts and blends from her small business Libertine Tacoma
So, come and shop a great selection of local vendors while enjoying light snacks and a signature cocktail plus a GOODIE BAG for those who RSVP. No children please as this event tends to get crowded and there are adult beverages being served. We ask that you spend at least $5.00 as this is a shopping event to support our local artist, crafters and creators.
