December 2nd

Today is another day and another flea market, hopefully the first of many at  The Rendezvous  in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle.  I made a flyer for it and love it so much because I got to use a picture of my handsome nephew on it, Santa made him cry in 2010 so I can not wait to see what his picture is going to look like this year.
Santa made my nephew cry in 2010
As the holiday gets closer and closer I hope everyone takes a minute to think about all the great family, friends, happiness and struggles that make you who you are, because without these things what a boring life you will live. Being so far away from my family and seeing all the family's that come through the Pike Place Market or that are at holiday shows together makes me miss my family down in California but, I am so grateful for my crafty friends, market friends, my best friend and boyfriend I got to choose you to be my family and I think I done good.
The weather is changing up here it's wet cold and it may start snowing pretty soon but like your postal carrier your local artist will travel and you will be able to buy local no matter what the weather is outside. There is a tight nit group of crafters that travel around to different local markets in the Seattle/Tacoma area to bring you handmade goodies check out some of their websites. My friend Jenny makes awesome nerdy magnets, bags, keychains and so much more perfect stocking stuffers for the sci-fi geek on your check list (or in my case my boyfriend)  check out her Etsy site Inferno Creations. Then there are my favorite culinary creators like Christy with her awesome Libertine Tacoma gourmet salts my favorite is her Ghost pepper salt but, I know it is not for everyone especially if you are not a spicy fan. Also I love sweets so Holly and Clay from Fingerprint Confections with caramels and sauces always hit the spot when I am craving something sweet, may I suggest the coconut caramels they are my favorite. If you need beautifully hand crafted metal jewelry then look no further than my friend Sarah she makes everything at her in home studio MagpieMouseStudios I love how she uses lots of copper and her wire wrap she does. There are so many other crafty friends I want you to know of  but for right now I am gonna leave you with just one more site to visit and that would be my friend Stephanie who owns Slave to Stitchery she makes awesome aprons but I wear them as dresses I love em so much.
So as you are doing your holiday shopping remember shopping local and independent is good for everyone maybe you can make it to one of our upcoming shows:
Capitol Hill Indoor flea Market every Saturday and all year round from 11am-3pm
Flea Market at The Crocodile  every 2nd Friday as part of the Belltown Artwalk 3pm-7pm
Urban Shopping and Cocktails every 3rd Saturday 1pm-5pm
2 Bit Punk Rock Swap Meet One sunday a month 3pm-7pm
Market On Market every 4th Saturday (times T.B.A)
These are just markets to find us at this month I am sure more will be added as the month comes along so, keep checking back and hope your holiday season is as merry as can be.

What's my age again?

November is here and is almost gone how life has changed for me art walks, flea markets, swap meets and holiday shows have kept me so busy this year. As the year comes to an end though I can't help but continue to think about my very good friend Robert he passed away a few years ago but I still think about him every goddamn day and find it so hard to listen to the Flaming Lips or Blink 182 without bursting out in tears. I wish everyday that Robert was still here every time I look at my Forrest dog I think of him or how much he would have loved our new dog Tugg or whenever I am at an art show and how he would come and sit with me keep and me company.
Here is the art part now, I have so many shows booked that every weekend in December is full and I am excited but scared because I have never needed so much product to last through all of them so, it looks like I  am going to be a busy bee this next month coming up and the rest of this month too.

1 art walk an art Art ache market & excited for more

This was my set up inside studio 15
These past few months have been filled with all sorts of mixed feelings, flea markets, art walks and markets that maybe I should never do again. Anyways 1st Thursday in historic pioneer square was fun this month, after taking a couple months off to help the jelly stand during the busy summer months and do the stink fair, I came back to the Ok hotel.
Flyer for 1st Thursday
I shared the space with Krista she had robots made from tins, lids and wires plus paintings with a very wild & whimsical feel. She wages her own colorful little battles with the mundane and predictable, her designs are very unique in an unusual world. Here is her website check her out            http://www.wild-and-whimsical.com

This month is going to be very busy for me and I am so excited flea markets every Sunday this month an art walk Friday Oct 12th and vending at the Urban Shopping and Cocktails event that happens in Tacoma WA. every 3rd Saturday of the month. So, make sure to mark your calendars and stay posted to new events that I may add to my list of events this month see you Friday for the Flea Market at The Crocodile

September is almost over

So, as the title says this month is almost over and I have had so much fun I must say this month has been one of the best of the entire year. Let see I got a new tattoo at the beginning of the month went to  the tattoo shop at the Pike Place Market and it actually was not that bad it felt just like getting a tattoo. I love Washington plus loved my friend Robert for as long as I was able, in order to keep loving him and how much he loved this state I got the Rainier R on my heart. So, please please do not come up to me and try to convince me that wearing a helmet is just silly or that wearing a helmet makes you look goofy or that you think it is bad luck cause I know you know how to ride safe and look both ways before you cross the street but it's all those jackasses in cars I worry about not seeing you.
And that's all I got to say about that.
Let's see what else happened this month I did the Stink Fair in Puyallup sold lots of jelly for those rad folks Rod, Tadd and Ginger. Did the Flea Market at the Crocodile which happens every 2nd Friday as part of the Belltown ArtWalk, my heart melted when a lil boy that had a bad day at school saw some art by Jenny Dantes of Inferno Creations that made him so happy he ran all the way home to tell his grandma and guess what they came back to make a purchase.
My sister & nephew
My little sister Elizabeth came up from California to visit with my little nephew Eli he is so cute, I wish that he lived up here so I could hang out and spoil him every minute of the day or until I get tired of him then I would give him back to his mom. I had free tickets so of course we did the Puyallup he is such a well behaved kid too I am so glad that my lil sister is not only a great sister and friend but also a great mommy. Of course we did Seattle things too we went to the Autheniun with Shandi and I went upstairs to actually eat food for the first time, worked at Pike for 5 years and have never been up there except to pee because the bar restroom is always full. We went to the pirate store walked the waterfront went to the aquarium, saw the space needle went into the Children's museum and did some art at Graffiti town. Now that they are gone though it is time to get back to selling jelly and making art, I have been working hard on Halloween/fall inspired art to be at THE HANGOVER FLEA MARKET!!   happens randomly but always on Sundays.
Halloween cards, blank inside

Flea Markets

This week has been so hectic when I started this Blog i was hoping to write everyday but, alas I have a life after all. Speaking of life yesterday was my birthday it was fun my best friend Shandi mother fucking Jones bought me a really rad birthday out outfit and a bomb ass cupcake. I hung out with all my favorite girlfriends we went to our favorite after work bar at Pike place Market The Athenian. After that we went our separate ways then met up again this time also with Dan, Gary, Abby to watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure at Cal Anderson Park on the hill where we ate more cupcakes, it was awesome!

Enough about me though let's talk about Flea Markets there is one tomorrow in the U district at a bar called Dante's it should be rad I will be there with my friend Marie. Another flea market I am actually really excited about is the Flea Market at The Crocodile I located a spot that I am hoping is going to be a continuos gathering spot for the Belltown community to hang out drink and shop during the art walk on 2nd Fridays of every month. There will be an array of eclectic art, hand made jewelry even gourmet culinary creations at this event all made by local crafters that travel by bus, car or taxi to be here so take advantage of this free event and tell your friends too.

Life In Seattle

When I first arrived in the Emerald city in 2007 I was fascinated with all the history,  art installations Seattle's music scene, local sports team and celebrity's.  This week though the scene has been changed dramatically with first the news that a local celebrity known as JP Patches aka Chris Wedes passed away and then the Mariners traded Ichiro Suzuki to the N.Y Yankees.  That's all I got to say about that!

Block Party

I did a flea market today the Capitol Hill Indoor Flea Market at The Century Ballroom.
I was really excited because it being block party and all I thought sales would be better than usual but unfortunately things did not go as I was hoping and am not going to Block Party I had to pay my phone bill. See the thing with having the square for your phone is that you HAVE to pay your bill in order to use your phone and continue taking debit or credit card. As of today though I have started looking for a  part time job I gotta eat and be able to afford the comfortability that I have become accustomed to, maybe I'll get a job back at the market.
Here is how I set up my table today.

My very first post, july 20th

Expect everything from my handmade jewelry even outdoor art and life through my eyes in post, my boyfriend Mr. dan is a most awesome and talented graffiti artist we share a studio in Seattle Wa. with my dog Forrest.
At the moment I am working on gathering artist, crafters and folks with vintage goods or records to have an ArtWalk flea market at the famous Crocodile in Seattle WA.
There is a tight nit group of crafters, pickers and artist that live in and around the Seattle area that have been gathering for the last couple years in mostly the Capitol Hill area of Seattle but have been spreading to Belltown, Pioneer Square and even the U-district. As guerilla crafters, we travel by bus and are easily noticed we are the ones that have beads of sweat on our face, rolling racks, carrying milk crates or holding luggage and for those of us who do have cars we consider them more of a storage unit.
Places you can find me and my crafty friends include: The hangover flea Market on Sundays at The Comet Tavern located on the corner of Pine and 10th in the Capitol hill neighborhood. ARTACHE on the first Sunday of every month at Vermillion Art&Bar Gallery just across from the Value Village on 11th also in the Capitol Hill area.
Capitol Hill Indoor Flea Market at the Century Ballroom located at 915 E Pine St
11:00am- 3:00pm every Saturday on the 3rd floor,
First Thursdays at Scratch and Dent Gallery as part of the Pioneer Square ArtWalk.
For even more news about flea markets, ArtWalks or festivals where you can find handmade  jewelry, nerdy art and soaps check out my Facebook page. Designing jewelry out of bottle caps, champagne corks, can tabs and found materials is how I make a living please check out my Etsy shop to make a purchase.
