December 2nd

Today is another day and another flea market, hopefully the first of many at  The Rendezvous  in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle.  I made a flyer for it and love it so much because I got to use a picture of my handsome nephew on it, Santa made him cry in 2010 so I can not wait to see what his picture is going to look like this year.

As the holiday gets closer and closer I hope everyone takes a minute to think about all the great family, friends, happiness and struggles that make you who you are, because without these things what a boring life you will live. Being so far away from my family and seeing all the family's that come through the Pike Place Market or that are at holiday shows together makes me miss my family down in California but, I am so grateful for my crafty friends, market friends, my best friend and boyfriend I got to choose you to be my family and I think I done good.
The weather is changing up here it's wet cold and it may start snowing pretty soon but like your postal carrier your local artist will travel and you will be able to buy local no matter what the weather is outside. There is a tight nit group of crafters that travel around to different local markets in the Seattle/Tacoma area to bring you handmade goodies check out some of their websites. My friend Jenny makes awesome nerdy magnets, bags, keychains and so much more perfect stocking stuffers for the sci-fi geek on your check list (or in my case my boyfriend)  check out her Etsy site Inferno Creations. Then there are my favorite culinary creators like Christy with her awesome Libertine Tacoma gourmet salts my favorite is her Ghost pepper salt but, I know it is not for everyone especially if you are not a spicy fan. Also I love sweets so Holly and Clay from Fingerprint Confections with caramels and sauces always hit the spot when I am craving something sweet, may I suggest the coconut caramels they are my favorite. If you need beautifully hand crafted metal jewelry then look no further than my friend Sarah she makes everything at her in home studio MagpieMouseStudios I love how she uses lots of copper and her wire wrap she does. There are so many other crafty friends I want you to know of  but for right now I am gonna leave you with just one more site to visit and that would be my friend Stephanie who owns Slave to Stitchery she makes awesome aprons but I wear them as dresses I love em so much.
So as you are doing your holiday shopping remember shopping local and independent is good for everyone maybe you can make it to one of our upcoming shows:
